Abstract Submission
1. Abstract format
Prepare your abstract in a Microsoft Word document (.doc ou .docx) for upload during submission. The file can be submitted in either PDF or DOCX format.
Before writing your abstract and start the submission, read the Instructions and Guidelines!
1. Abstract body – The abstract, including Title, Authors, Affiliations, and Financial
Support Information, should NOT exceed 3600 characters (including spaces). The abstracts must be divided into: Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusion. Financial Support and the approval by Human or Animal Research Ethical Committee should be included, when applied.
a. NOTE: Abstract Presentation: The first author IS RESPONSIBLE for the submission and presentation of the abstract. If the first author is unable to present or submit, the second author or the adviser MAY submit or present on their behalf.
2. Projects will NOT be accepted.
3. Select the Submission Area: Choose the appropriate submission area based on the available categories.
4. Write the Title and Authors + Affiliation of your abstract: The title should be brief and clearly reflect the content of the abstract
- Capitalize only the Initial Letters of each word in the title
- Ensure proper spelling of scientific and chemical names
- List the authors and their affiliations immediately after the title, using the format: Surname followed by Initials. Separate each author with a comma: A maximum of 15 authors is allowed.
- DO NOT USE terms like Filho, Sobrinho, Neto or Junior as surnames. For example: Carvalho-Júnior, Silva Neto JA
- Affiliations: should be listed after the authors’ names in the following order: University Acronyms for national universities; for foreign universities use the full name, Campus (optional), Faculty, Dept (optional), Lab. (optional), Post-Graduation Program, and Country
- Example: Gastroprotective Effect of Lonchocarpus sericeus on Ethanol-Induced Gastric Lesion in Mice: Role of Prostaglandins and Nitric Oxide. Silva KDM¹, Souza VD² ¹UFPI, Lab. of Experimental Cancerology, Brazil, ²UFPI, PPG Pharmacology, Brazil
5. Use standard abbreviations for units of measure. Other abbreviations should be spelled out fully the first time, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses (e.g., myeloperoxidase (MPO)). Exceptions include cAMP, EGTA, DNA, RNA etc.
6. DO NOT include tables or figures. DO NOT underline, italicize, except for scientific names, or embolden any word.
7. Important: If applicable, approval from the Human or Animal Research Ethics Committee and financial support MUST be indicated. Failure to provide this information will prevent abstract submission from being completed. For any questions, please contact the SBFTE secretariat at sbfte@sbfte.org.br.
2. Online abstract submission
- Abstracts MUST be submitted electronically NOW UNTIL June 16th, 2025 (11:59pm BRT).
- Only Abstracts in English will be accepted.
- Each registration (author or co-author) is allowed to submit ONE abstract only.
- All submitted abstracts will be evaluated by the Abstract Evaluation Committee.
- By default, all approved abstracts will be considered for a poster presentation.
- If you are an Undergraduate or Graduate Student (Masters or Doctoral Degree), you may indicate your preference for consideration as an Oral Communication during the asbstract submission. The Oral Communication must be in English.
- The Scientific Program Committee reserves the right to select a limited number of abstracts for Oral Communications.
- Abstracts selected for Oral Communication MUST ALSO be presented as posters. Only the first author is permitted to present the Oral Communication.
- Graduate Students (Masters or Doctoral Degree) or trainee who obtained their PhD degree on or after January 1st, 2025, may indicate their preference to be considered for the Jose Ribeiro do Valle Award (JRV) during the online submission. See the JRV Award rules for more details.
- Undergraduate and Graduate Students (members and nonmembers): The advisor/supervisor will receive an E-mail to confirm the student’s status when submitting the abstract and/or registering online.

4. E-Poster Instructions
E-Poster Preparation Guidelines and Rules
POSTERS serve as platform for researchers to engage in a dialogue with peersregarding their study. Alongside the abstract, they should provide sufficient detail toenable readers to clearly understand the research in its entirety. Authors must strictlyadhere to the guidelines concerning text size and typeface. While there is flexibility inchoice of colors and their design elements, ensuring readability is crucial; therefore,color conflicts (E.g. red text on a green or yellow background) should be avoided.
IMPORTANT TIPS FOR MAKING YOUR E-POSTER
- The poster MUST include the final code (five digits found in the acceptance emailor in the Makadu app) prominently displayed in the UPPER LEFT CORNER. Please note that the final code will be sent via email by September 9th.
- The deadline to submit E-Posters through the platform https://e-poster.com.br/envio/sbfte2025/ is September 30th, 2025.
- Only E-Posters will be accepted, so BE SURE TO SUBMIT your posterelectronically (E-Poster). This means that there is no available place to holdprinted posters.
- The e-poster must be written in English;
- The e-poster layout should feature a full-width heading that includes the title,authors, and institutional affiliations;
- The title should be consistent with the one submitted in the abstract and legiblefrom a distance of 3 meters (e.g., Arial font, 18 – 20 pt). Authors andinstitutional affiliations should be in the same font, but in a smaller size (e.g., 10– 12 pt). The name of the presenting author should be underlined.
- Institutional logos may be incorporated into the poster design;
- To maintain clarity, the background must be a solid color, devoid of patterns orimages. The poster should be organized into the following sections: Introductionand Aims, Materials and Methods, Results, Conclusions, References, andAcknowledgments/Financial Support.
- Sections should be arranged vertically to facilitate a logical reading flow from leftto right across columns. All text, including figure legends, should be in 8 – 10 pt,with section headings in bold, 14 – 16 pt.
- It is encouraged to make extensive use of diagrams, flowcharts, and figures toeffectively convey methods, results (maximum of 6 figures and 2 tables) andconclusions.
- Avoid excess of text. Approval by the Human or Animal Research EthicsCommittee must be included, where applicable.
- The use of static images and graphs is permitted.
- The download template is preconfigured to the correct dimension for the event´sequipment The tips (above) and the background provided in the template aresuggested guidelines and can be freely edited to suit the needs of each author.
- The file must be created in PowerPoint (ppt, .pptx) or a similar program, in a singleslide, and saved in PPT, PPTX or PDF format;
- The presentation is LIMITED to one page (slide);
- Page dimensions: 15.752 cm x 28.002 cm (width x height);
- Slide orientation: “Custom” portrait
- DO NOT underline, or use italic and italic font, except for scientific names;
- To prevent text from being cut off, ensure that margins set in the template aremaintained.
